The ISSB released the IFRS S1 and S2 sustainability standards this week, bridging the gap between financial and sustainability reporting
June 26th, 2023 was an exciting, symbolic day in the sustainability community. It marked a turning point for standardized sustainability reporting with the International Sustainability Standards Board’s (ISSB) publication of two new extensions to the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). Both the sustainability and financial communities have been eagerly awaiting this release since the IFRS announced the creation of ISSB in November 2021 at COP26 in Glasgow.
